DreamCat
A Soft Sculpture Installation and Immersive Resting Space
DreamCat is a large-scale, interactive sculpture designed to bring calm and wonder. Originally created for the POLIN Museum in Warsaw as part of the Tu odpocznij / Relax and Create exhibition, it quickly became a visitor favorite. This oversized, huggable cat invites visitors of the space to enter a soft, sensory-friendly world. It blends sculpture, illustration, and care-based design into a tactile experience of rest and play. Both children and adults are free to stretch out, climb, lean, or simply pause. Around DreamCat, additional activities like drawing, sound exploration, or gentle movement create a space for creative stillness and intentional presence.
The installation is especially valued by inclusive programs and neurodiverse audiences - offering calm without isolation, and stimulation without overwhelm.
Concept: A creature that feels both familiar and strange - a cat, a being, or something in between. It speaks to the senses through its softness, weight, and gentleness. Its presence inspires calm and play, which can lead to creating your own place in the world for a moment - whether it’s building a fort from its long legs or simply taking an uninterrupted pause.
